Policy on Non-AI-Generated Submissions for Out From The Mist.
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to maintain the integrity and originality of artworks submitted to Out From The Mist, ensuring that all entries are the result of human creativity and skill. This policy outlines the restrictions on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creation of artwork submitted for competition.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all participants intending to submit artwork to Out From The Mist, across all categories and mediums.
3. Policy Statement
Out From The Mist is dedicated to celebrating and promoting human artistic endeavor and creativity. To ensure fairness and maintain the focus on human artistry, submissions wholly or partly generated by Generative AI technologies are not eligible for consideration.
4. Definitions
AI-Generated Art: Artwork created with the assistance of artificial intelligence, including but not limited to, images generated by AI software, AI-assisted design decisions, or any art substantially modified by AI tools.
Human-Created Art: Artwork predominantly created through the direct physical effort and creative decision-making of the artist(s), without the substantive use of AI technologies in the creation process.
5. Submission Guidelines
Participants must declare upon submission that their artwork is free from AI-generated content and that it is entirely the result of human effort.
Any artwork found to have been created or substantially altered by Generative AI technologies will be disqualified.
Artists are encouraged to document their creative process to facilitate verification, if required.
6. Verification Process
Out From The Mist reserves the right to request additional information about the creation process of any artwork submitted.
Failure to provide satisfactory evidence of a human-led creation process will result in disqualification from the competition.
7. Exceptions
Tools or software that do not autonomously generate or alter creative content but assist in the manual creation process (e.g., digital brushes, color correction tools) are permitted.
8. Amendments
This policy may be reviewed and amended at the discretion of the Out From the Mist organising Committee to address emerging technologies or to better reflect the objectives of the competition.
9. Acknowledgment of Policy
By submitting their work, artists agree to abide by the terms of this policy and confirm that their submission is compliant with the stated guidelines.
Any attempt to circumvent this policy may result in disqualification from the current and future competitions.
10. Queries
Participants with queries regarding the eligibility of their work in relation to this policy are encouraged to contact the Out From The Mist Organizing Committee before submission.
This policy is intended to uphold the tradition of human artistry and ensure that the competition remains a fair and genuine representation of human creative talents.
